Willie's Story...
Name: Willie

Fee: $100.00

Location: Western N. Carolina

Willie was found as a stray by animal control. His family never showed up to
claim this sweet little boy, so rescue was called.

Willie is around 9 yrs of age, a mini dachshund at 9-lbs. He is a pretty red
dapple boy. Willie is housetrained as long as you take him out on a schedule.
He loves to sit with his foster mom at TV time, he really does not care what he
watches, just that he is close to you. He is not a yappy dachshund, but will
let you know when someone is at the door or when someone pulls up in the
driveway. Willie seems to be OK with the two calico kitties that live at the
foster home. He by no means acts old. He is a happy little boy looking for a
loving home to call all his own. Willie is fine with children that respect
animals and as long as they do not pull ears and tails. As with all animals and
children, they should be supervised when playing together.

Willis has been neutered, current on vaccines, dewormed and will be heartworm
tested before going home.
He has no other known health issues at this time.

If you are interested in giving Willie a loving home, please contact his foster
Mom at and fill out an online adoption application from
our website. If you have never adopted thru a rescue organization before,
please read 'Adopting Thru AHDRS'. Willie is located in the foothills of North
Carolina. Please consider transportation needs before applying from out of the

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Willie, a Lawndale Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Lawndale, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Lawndale.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lawndale already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lawndale breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lawndale paves the way for another one to be saved.
