Macadamia's Story...
On March 9th, 2013 we received 6 small breed dogs from the LA area through Best Friends Animal Society's Pup My Ride program. Pup My Ride was started in 2008 to save small dogs that are strays or in puppy mills from ending up in shelters. They discovered that there is an overabundance of small dogs in some parts of the country and a shortage in others. Pup My Ride demonstrates that when caring people work together, we get closer and closer to creating a time when there are No More Homeless Pets.

Macadamia is one of the 6 dogs we received! She's 1-2 years old weighing 10 pounds and is looking for a new home! When she was found as a stray she was taken to a county shelter in LA and then was lucky enough to be chosen for the Pup My Ride program. Macadamia loves people, when she gets happy she is very wiggly and runs over to you to say hi! She loves to give kisses and would do well with kids too. Macadamia is living with another dog and two cats in her foster home. While we’ve only had her a short time, she has not had any accidents so we are fairly sure that she is house broken. Macadamia is looking for a great new home, please got to our website and fill out an application if you're interested in meeting her!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Macadamia, a Medford Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Medford, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Medford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Medford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Medford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Medford paves the way for another one to be saved.
