COLBY's Story...
Handsome Colby showed up on someone’s doorstep in the pouring rain one night. He was weak and hungry and needed help. Colby is now a healthy and hearty 2 year old boy, weighing in at 65 lbs, he’s not hungry anymore. His beautiful black coat is now shiny and soft and Colby is ready for a home where he is taken care of forever. He gets along well with other dogs, but he is better with females than males. Colby is good with children, knows “sit” and has learned "wait" when it is time to eat. He walks well on a leash and can walk off leash and still stay with and mind well. He is a very handsome and very smart boy that loves to run and play, and also loves to come for lots of petting and attention. ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Why Adoption is a Great Option

COLBY, a Portland Flat-Coated Retriever/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Flat-Coated Retriever/Labrador Retriever for sale in Portland, or seeking a Flat-Coated Retriever/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Flat-Coated Retriever/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Flat-Coated Retriever/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
