Bruin's Story...
Bruin is a very handsome 6 year old German Shepherd. He is very intelligent and has gone through extensive training, he knows how to come, sit, lay down. If you ask him to go lay down he will. He knows how to fetch, he will retrieve the ball or toy and bring it back, drop it and leave it. He is very athletic and agile, although he does show signs of arthritis in his hips and knees; which is being managed with a daily glucosmine tablet. Bruin has Pannus, which is very common in German Shepherds. Pannus is not painful, but he will need daily eyedrops to prevent further issues with his eyes.Bruin does go to doggy daycare a few times a week and gets along with dogs. He can be jealous of the resident dogs, but is submissive when corrected. Bruin isn't a fan of the felines, so would be best without them in the home. Bruin is very protective of the humans he loves, he will need a home with not alot of commotion so that he isn't put in a situation where he feels he must protect. He has bitten in the past and it has been when someone has come into his home. He will need to have an owner that understands these tendencies and knows how to prevent the situation. Bruin will also need a structured home, he will need at least a daily walk, he will heel on his walk and is a pleasant companion. He also likes to go on car rides and is mellow. Ideally Bruin will need to be in a home with people that are active and will enforce boundaries. If you are looking for a smart, intelligent, loyal K9, Bruin is your man.
