Happy's Info...
| Breed: | Chihuahua/Rat Terrier Mix | Color: | Unknown | Age: | Young |
| Size: | Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less | Sex: | Male | ID#: | 176977 |
I am already neutered.
Happy came to us all the way from the Tehama County Shelter through our Pet Partnership Program. He is playful sweet adoring and smart.
Since Happy has had some "issues" with invasive handling we suggest you work with him to help him learn to enjoy more types of handling. We found that he is receptive to the "cream cheese method" for this. Talk with one of our behavior staff about this approach.
We recommend a home with mature people and no regular visits from younger children because of his lack of tolerance. The good news: Happy is very food motivated and builds trust once he is secure with you. He will be a great dog in classes where he will be the Star.
Happy has made many friends while playing with other small dogs here. But he has not done so well with dogs he thinks are "too big." He could do well in a multi-small dog household with the right match in dogs.
We couldn't help but have a good time with this little lad because at the end of the day he is really really sweet snuggly and fun!
