Francis - NORTH VERNON, IN's Story...
FOSTERED IN NORTH VERNON, INDIANA. YOU WILL NEED TO GO THERE TO MEET HER.

My name is Francis and I am a 5 year old Pit Bull/Lab mix. I am 19 inches at the shoulders and 41.9 pounds. I have a CUTE mohawk on the back of my head and neck, the hair just grows that way!

I was an owner surrender due to my owner moving. I lived with them my whole life, so I was understandably very anxious when coming to my foster home. I have settled in well, but please understand there will be an adjustment period for me when moving to your home too.

I am a friendly girl who loves everyone I meet. I am energetic and love walks. I'd be a good hiking buddy! I am good around children as long as they don't chase me or act like they will hit me, I get very nervous if they do.

So far I get along well with the other dogs in my foster home as long as they let me be the boss. I love to play with them. I am a little too interested in cats, so probably best in a home with no cats.

I am house trained and will let you know when I need to go out. I am pretty well behaved in the house and I know a couple commands. I am crate trained but would prefer not to be in one.

My foster family is still getting to know me, so this will be updated as they learn more.

I am free to an approved home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Francis - NORTH VERNON, IN, a Rising Sun American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever for sale in Rising Sun, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Rising Sun.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rising Sun already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rising Sun breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rising Sun paves the way for another one to be saved.
