My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I'm Heidi - and I am as sweet as can be and cute as a button! I'm just a little puppy girl who is looking for some one to call my own! I am a basset mix...my Mama is a full basset but we aren't sure about my Dad. I have lots of black fur, a tan face and legs and snow white fur slippers ....every color you could possibly want! My ears are so soft and long and my eyes are so warm and loving. I was born in mid January, 2013.

Our little fur family is very grateful to a wonderful volunteer who found my heavily pregnant Mama, darting in and out traffic on a busy rural highway. Mama was freezing, hungry and so frightened after being dumped in the country. Her family didn't want to bother with her or her puppies so they just 'got rid of her' like she was trash. She was frantic knowing her puppies were coming soon and she was all alone.

As soon as the volunteer stopped to rescue my mama....mama ran right to her and her car. She knew her only hope of survival for her and her puppies was to find help. Our new foster Mom put my Mama in a soft, warm bed with a huge bowl of food and water. Mama slept and slept..only waking to eat. Pretty soon, Mama went into labor and had TEN of the cutest puppies in the world..all of them healthy and precious!

We're all adorable and ready for our new forever families. Everybody loves puppies...soft, cuddly, full of puppy kisses, loving to play and then ready to take a nap in your lap. I know you will want to come and take me home....maybe two of us!!!
