Kellie's Story...
Meet Kellie. She is a beautiful 6 year old full blooded Cocker Spaniel. Kellie has spent the last year in a shelter carrying around her tennis ball waiting for someone to take her home and play with her. Until now Kellie has been misunderstood, because at some point in her life she had a broken hip. Due to the injury and no medical attention it left her in pain and sensitive to anyone touching her. It was assumed it was a behavioral issue until an x-ray showed the old injury and she was put on the proper medications to ease the pain. Kellie has now been on her hip and joint supplement for several days and she is playing like a puppy and in love with everyone. Prior to Kellie's arrival at HCW she was diagnosed with epilepsy which is completely controlled with her daily meds. She now has a very comfortable foster home where is she is fitting in with her new foster brother and sisters. She is house and crate trained and would make a great companion for anyone.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kellie, a Russellville Cocker Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cocker Spaniel for sale in Russellville, or seeking a Cocker Spaniel dog from a breeder in Russellville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Russellville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Russellville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cocker Spaniel breeders who help with Cocker Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Russellville paves the way for another one to be saved.
