Smitty's Story...
Hey there! My name's Smitty, what's your's? I was found as a stray and brought into the shelter. They're guessing I'm a Jack Russell mix, and am around 12 weeks old. I'm up to date on shots, neutered, and have a microchip. I'm ok with other dogs and cats. I am currently living in a foster home, so you would need to call the shelter and make arrangements to meet me. Since I am a puppy I would need a home with someone who has time to spend teaching me how to be a good dog when I grow up. The shelter is open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1-5, and Tuesday and Thursday from 1-8.

You can see some of our adoptable pets almost every Saturday at the Petsmart in Greensburg from noon to 6pm and some Sundays too. All adoption fees include spay/neuter and up-to-date vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Smitty, a Youngwood Jack Russell Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier puppy from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
