I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and not good with cats.
Meet 2YO Sebastian! He was an unclaimed stray at Animal Care & Control and was scheduled to be euthanized because he has mange. Poor boy, through no fault of his own, was going to be killed because his owner's didn't care enough about him to take him to a vet.
I'm Sebastian but my friends call me Sebby. I'm kinda of a stud, a ladies man... so much easier than competing with other male dogs, (but I'm cool with other males as long as they are chill). Dog parks are not my scene baby, but I love my walks and hikes. I love humans and am man enough to admit to having a bit of a foot fetish... not shoes, I love toes and feet that shuffle.
My foster family has two boys (10 and 13 yo) and we are like the 3 amigos... we love the race, fetch, wrestle and romp. Can be a little rough around toddlers but I mean well!! Kids are cool... cats, uh not so much. I'm good with basic commands and am still working on not jumping up. (I just get excited to meet new people!) At heart, I'm a lover, my favorite place is preferably on your lap. I will bark at strangers or the landscapers but the pool guy is awesome cuz he brings me treats! I can swim although have to be convinced to do it. Potty trained.... of course, I'm not a puppy for cryin out loud.
Just a little embarrassed because I used to have mange. I'm shacked up with a super foster family who loves me and the mange under control, but still working on my hair coming in under my chin. Listen bud, we all have a little something we're workin on. I'm handsome, sweet, loving and looking for the perfect forever family to call my very own! So give Almost Home Boxer Rescue a call and let 'em know Sebby sent ya.
DOGS: Sebastian can be dominant and does better with female dogs.
CATS: We do not recommend cats at this time.
KIDS: He can be mouthy when he plays but would do well with children.
HOUSETRAINED: Yep
OBEDIENCE TRAINING: Knows some basics, but can benefit from continued training.
CRATE SKILLS: Not a problem!
LEASH SKILLS: Loves his walks!
DROOL FACTOR: Not so much, but can be messy around the water bowl!
PERKS & QUIRKS: Has a foot fettish....will nibble at your feet if you shuffle them around!
HEALTH STATUS: I have tested NEGATIVE for heartworm, ehrlichiosis, lyme disease and anaplasmosis. I am healthy and ready to go!
ENERGY LEVEL: Can be active but does have an off button

Rescue Group Info...
We are a private, volunteer, non-profit 501(c)3 organization. We are dedicated to the rescue of unwanted, neglected, and abandoned pets. We specialize in boxers, but for the perfect home we can help you find the perfect pet, or point you to a rescue who can. We provide food, shelter, medical attention, and TLC during our rescues wait for the "RIGHT" forever home.
All of our dogs are in foster homes throughout the valley - we do not have a shelter that you can visit. Once you submit an application, your references are checked and the home visit is complete, we will contact you to set up a satisfactory meeting place for a get-together with your potential adoptive pet.
Our dogs are cared for in foster homes during this wait. We try to have them in a foster home environment for at least 2 weeks. They are temperament tested to the best of our ability to ensure a perfect match into their new home. Our number one concern is for the safety of the adoptive family and the happiness of the pet. We strive for a FOREVER placement - not all dogs are perfect for all families. We don't want to place "A" dog in your home - we want to place "THE" dog for your family!
We can't save every dog but we can make a difference...one dog at a time!
We are desperately seeking foster homes for our wonderful dogs! We also accept used crates or donations of any kind!
Please contact us about a specific pet - we do not have a shelter facility. All pets are in foster homes around the state of Arizona.
We prefer e-mail to cut down on cell phone minute usage! Once an application is submitted, it is reviewed, references are checked, and a home visit is done. If approved, we will contact you about the dog you are interested in. We want to place these dogs with the "RIGHT" families so it may take a bit to find that dog for you, please be patient.
We adopt within the state of Arizona or surrounding areas where there is no active boxer rescue.
