Mocha's Story...
Mocha is a 5 year old lab/beagle mix. She and her housemate Brendie are victims of bad luck. Their previous owner became ill and lost her job and home. Sadly, she surrendered her dogs to animal control. Mocha had been with her previous owner since she was a puppy. Mocha was raised in a home with cats, children, and other dogs. She is housebroken and crate trained. She has wonderful leash manners and enjoys a nice daily walk. Given her sweet disposition and medium size, Mocha would be a good addition for a novice dog-owning family. If you would like to meet Mocha, please complete an application at to get started.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mocha, a Richmond Beagle/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle/Labrador Retriever for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Beagle/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Beagle/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
