Abby's Story...
This is Miss Abby. She is a sweet sweet black labby girl and is about 5 years old. Abby is of smaller size for a female at about 50 lbs. She is one big love and is now in a wonderful foster home after being pulled from a horrible kill shelter. She came to us with heartworm, but has successfully completed her treatment and is now heartworm free. Here is what Abby’s foster mom has to say about her: Abby could not be sweeter. She just loves to be loved and is thriving as part of our active family with 4 kids. She has perfect house manners and is housebroken. Abby is on the smaller side and is 5 years old. She can be left loose in the house during the day for a few hours at a time and has not caused any mischief. Our family adores her and would keep her if it were at all possible. She is an absolute treasure! Abby would be considered low to medium energy. We are sure she would do well with the kitties, but can cat test if necessary. She enjoys her leisurely walks and rides in the car as well. Abby would do great in any just about any family situation.
Abby is spayed, heartworm negative, up to date on her vaccinations including rabies, micro-chipped and on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Abby is ready to have a loving home to call her very own. If you think you are the perfect family for this wonderful girl, please complete an online application and request her in the notes section

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Abby, a Lewisville Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Lewisville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Lewisville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lewisville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lewisville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lewisville paves the way for another one to be saved.
