Nyla's Story...
Meet Nyla, she's a very nice tiny girl. Nyla is only 9 months old and was surrendered to the shelter because her family rented and were not allowed to have a dog. She's fine with kids but has never lived with any other pets. That's not to say she wouldn't like other dogs or cats. Nyla's family described her as a lap loving, social butterfly that is very playful. She's partially house trained. If Nyla sounds like the puppy you're looking for, hurry on down to Friendship and give her a new home. She's still very young and will need lots of patience, training and most of all love.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nyla, a Elyria Chihuahua/Dachshund puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Dachshund for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Chihuahua/Dachshund puppy from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Dachshund breeders who help with Chihuahua/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
