Layla-Prison Dog's Story...
Layla has been selected to be one of Friendship's Prison Dogs. This Prison Dog will be trained in obedience, basic commands, manners and leash training. LayLa will remain at the prison between 8-12 weeks. Once she returns, she will be a proud trained Prison Graduate. LayLa left for training at the end of April.

If you are interested in adopting LayLa, adoption applications are now being accepted. They can be downloaded at www.friendshipapl.org. but must be hand delivered to Friendship. If you have any questions please call the shelter at 440-322-4321. A limited amount of adoption apps are taken on each Prison Dog.

Introducing LayLa! She's only a year old and was surrendered to Friendship because her family had a change in lifestyle. LayLa is a friendly girl but timid at first. LayLa is fine with other dogs and kids 7 years of age and older. Stop by and let LayLa get to know you while you get to know her. You just may find yourself going home with your new best friend...once she returns from her training.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Layla-Prison Dog, a Elyria Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd Dog for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
