My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Updated Bio 05/17/13: UPDATED BIO 5/17/2013: Coco Chanel is a 5 year old 4lb Yorkshire Terrier Mix being fostered in Miami, FL.

Hi everypuppy! Coco Chanel here. I recently had surgery to repair my Achilles and luxating patella. I was also spayed and I had my teeth cleaned. Yup, I got the full package. Even though I had a huge surgery, I will tell you that I feel pretty good! I have a dogtors appointment coming up very soon and I hope he is able to see how well I'm doing. I hope he tells me that I will be able to run & walk 100% normal. Paws crossed for that!!

Have you all seen my video? (I'll link it below.) This was me right after surgery. I was anxious to start walking around all over the place. Don't I look fabulous?! My hair is finally growing out and I've gained a little weight. I think I've come a long way since UYR saved me. Don't you? I've still got a long road ahead of me. My big surgery requires a long healing process but I'm looking forward to it. Nothing but positive vibes here! Please consider donating a few dollars to my care. My surgery was really expensive and without you, they wouldn't have been able to help me or be able help other yorkies. UYR really love me and worked hard to get me healthy. I'm very thankful for them.

UPDATED BIO 4/8/2013: Coco Chanel is a 5 year old 4lb Yorkshire Terrier Mix being fostered in Miami, FL.

Here's what Coco Chanel had to say.

Hello there beautiful people, it's me Coco Chanel. FM told me I had a lot amazing people asking about me and that I should update everyone on how I'm doing. So here goes! I've been doing great at FM's house. I've even gained 1/2 lb so I'm now at a whopping 4lbs! Woo Hoo! FM says she's very proud of me because I'm a good eater & a good little girl. At FM's home I've got 2 foster furbrothers to play with. I especially love to share my bed with them because they cuddle with me & help keep me warm. I really like being outside and greeting everyone & every pet that I see. I may be very quiet but I'm definitely very friendly! I've also improved a bit on my walking & I'm using my leg a bit more than I use to.I exercise a couple of times a week in FM's bath tub. She fills it up and let's me swim so I can get stronger & build up my leg muscles.

I will be going to the an orthopedic dogtor later this week to get a 2nd opinion about my leg. I'm using it a lot more than before & it really doesn't hurt me to use it to scratch my ear or side. I even sleep on it & I lean on it whenever I'm sitting on a soft bed or a patch of grass. Please keep in your prayers and cross your paws that there will be good news for me! So come back soon to check up on me after my dogtor's visit. Oh & don't forget, since I'm so small I can only be adopted to an adult only home or a home with mature children over the age of 12.

I'm so thankful for UYR taking such good care of me, but without donors like yourself, they wouldn't be able to do it. Please consider donating to my care. I would be furever thankful!

INITIAL BIO 03/07/2013: MEET COCO CHANEL! She is a tiny little yorkshire terrier mix who is 5 years old and weighs only 3.4 lbs, but is severely underweight and anemic; she is being fostered in Miami, FL. Coco Chanel was in a high-kill shelter, tick-infested, with her nails very overgrown, and limping on her rear back leg ~ she was so severely matted that she had to be entirely shaved down to the skin. Her rear leg was attached to the hair at the level of her hock (due to the severe matting), rendering her unable to use her leg basically. We are hopeful that she will be able to regain use of this leg. Please stay tuned for more info on this little princess..........
