Truman's Story...
Truman is SOAR's newest addition. His owner moved and left him outside in the backyard to fend for himself. He had frozen water and a dead Rat in the water when contractors working on the house found him. They called the realtor, who happens to be friends with SOAR, and we took the little guy into our program. Truman as we have named him, is a 3-4 month old Australian Cattle Dog Mix. He's growing like a weed and weighs 25 lbs. now. He's neutered, has had his second round of puppy shots and is microchipped. He's smart, loves everyone, and especially loves sleeping in bed with his foster daddy :) Truman will make a great addition to any family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Truman, a Georgetown Cattle Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cattle Dog for sale in Georgetown, or seeking a Cattle Dog puppy from a breeder in Georgetown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Georgetown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Georgetown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cattle Dog breeders who help with Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Georgetown paves the way for another one to be saved.
