Penny's Story...
Hello everyone. My name is Autumn and I’m a confident 3 year old 8 lb girl with lots of character. You can see that I’m part chihuahua, and maybe part pug. That makes me a “chug.” But I don’t have such a short snout as some pugs, just a cute under bite and a few wrinkles across my nose. I love to play with toys. Of course, ALL of them are mine, mine, mine! And I like to keep MY toys all in a pile beside me. My foster mom says sometimes I’m kind of bossy to submissive dogs. So I’ll have to meet any other animals living in your home to see how they fit with my personality. I wouldn't mind being an only dog or living with a bigger dog who is confident like me. I’m almost potty trained, but I’ll need a little refresher training when I move to my furever home. I’m learning about walking on a leash and I’m crate trained. Now all I need is a home with lots of love and a sofa where I can snuggle next to you. Please fill out a statement of interest at www.alternativehumanesociety.com under the (adopt) tab!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Penny, a Bellingham Chihuahua/Pug dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Pug for sale in Bellingham, or seeking a Chihuahua/Pug dog from a breeder in Bellingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Pug breeders who help with Chihuahua/Pug rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
