Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Since we never rescued an American Curl before, we read up on them. They are a US breed as of 1983 established in southern California. They are 7-11 pounds as adults (small cats). One of Gumbo's ears is show quality (curl), the other not quite. They are famous for excellent health and the need for human relationships. They come in all colors. Gumbo's coat reminds me of a terrier's but softer.
Gumbo had been abandoned but regularly visited a lady who cannot keep him because of her health. He laid beside her and her neighbor on their porch and loved to have his tummy rubbed.
Gumbo loves Fancy Feast and eating in general. He has a good voice but not a problem voice. He is healthy, neutered, vaccinated for distemper, (5/6) and tested negative for FeLV and FIV. He's about a year old (3/21/12).
Gumbo is black with grey markings and weighs about nine pounds. He had been abandoned for a while when brought to the rescue, so was not very friendly. Now I can't keep him out of my lap and he likes to walk with me as I do chores. He thinks he likes asparagus, too.
