Meet Pansy; she’s a Chug! (Chihuahua/Pug mix). Pansy is a fun, loving and sweet, one-year-old, rescued from the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter. Virtually no one shows an interest in her online because she is passed over by “cuter” dogs. Weighing about 11 pounds, Pansy has the classic pug under-bite and big eyes but also perky Chihuahua ears. She is a smart little dog who is tentative to new people and situations initially, but has been well socialized in her foster home with other dogs, numerous people, as well as special outings such as hiking, dog park, and yes, even the beach! (which is why we created a “beach theme” in her photos and video for her updated bio). Pansy needs a chance. She was dumped at the shelter by her original owners, has been in two foster homes since, but she needs her own forever home with someone who understands that rescued dog need time to adjust to new people and a new home.

Pansy loves to go for walks (she is a MASTER WALKER), cuddle, and get scratched behind the ears. She likes to play with her foster brothers and she also enjoys going to the dog park. Her one foster brother is three times her size, and she happily wrestles with and chases him around or plays tug of war with him. Pansy enjoys toys and also rawhide chews. She can occupy herself quite well with a squeaky toy or go out and explore nature in the back yard. When it is time for a car ride, she is quite happy to jump in the back seat and come along. Pansy is crate-trained, and to go potty, she currently uses the doggie door at free will; she could also be potty-trained to live in an apartment with regular potty breaks. For a little dog, she can be rough and tumble sometimes, and other times, total princess. Please consider calling the rescue about Pansy.

Pansy is spayed, fully vaccinated, de-wormed, and micro-chipped. If you are interested in Pansy, please contact Angel’s Heart Dog Rescue at: adopt@angelsheartdogrescue.com or phone: 626-340-9316. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pansy "Watch My Beach Video!", a Bellflower Pug/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug/Chihuahua for sale in Bellflower, or seeking a Pug/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Bellflower.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellflower already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellflower breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug/Chihuahua breeders who help with Pug/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellflower paves the way for another one to be saved.
