Macaroon's Story...
Macaroon was rescued from a local shelter. He was surrendered by his owner. They said he was not good with children. Most pets need to be supervised around small children. He has all of his medical updated and is neutered. He is also micro chipped. He weighs 16 pounds. He is between 4 to 5 years old. He is a little wobbly on his hind end but it does not keep from running and playing !!!!It appears he has an old disc problem. He is very sweet. He does good with other dogs.

Macaroon is being fostered in Va Beach Va. If you would like to be considered in giving Macaroon his fur ever home please complete our on line adoption application. We require a home visit and vet reference. His adoption fee is $300.

UPDATE FROM MACAROON'S FOSTER MOM: 02/01/2013

Mac-Aroon is such a sweet heart! He is somewhat of a clown. He has come a long way since arriving at my home. He plays well with all my gals n guys. He loves toys and will now share them with you although a little growly, he is just playing. He likes it when I play with him and his toy. However, if he finds something he is not supposed to have, like one of the kids stuffed animals, you have to be tricky to get it from him but he lets you know. He uses the doggie door and I don't have to put him out the door anymore. He loves his belly rubbed and loves to be held. He wears a sweater without a problem. He loves a doggie bed and spends his sleepy time on one under a chair. He likes to be in the room you are in. His ultimate home would be with one or two play mates and children old enough to understand his toy rules. He will make someone a wonderful addition to their family! He is really a very well behaved young man! And such a cutie pie! (I spell his name like this cause we just call him Mac:)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Macaroon, a Virginia Beach Pekingese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pekingese for sale in Virginia Beach, or seeking a Pekingese dog from a breeder in Virginia Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Virginia Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Virginia Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pekingese breeders who help with Pekingese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Virginia Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
