Carly's Story...
"Hello everyone...if you are looking for a very lovable, sweet and a wonderful little dog who will be content to sit in your lap or go for a walk with you, then look no further than my kennel. My name is CARLY, and I am absolutely the most adorable little dog that you will ever see. I'm just five years old, and I'm a precious little Shih Tzu who has the most beautiful black and white coat. My owner could no longer care for me, and that is why I am here at the shelter. I know in my heart that there is a very special person or family out there who is going to adopt me and love me "FUR"EVER". I would make a wonderful family pet, and I play nicely with other dogs. You'll be happy to know that I've already been house trained, too. A trip to our shelter would not be complete unless we have a chance to meet, so when you get to our shelter, just ask one of our kind Shelter Staff to introduce you to the most precious Shih Tzu in the entire world whose name is CARLY, and I think it is going to be love at first sight for us. Come and hold me in your arms and hold me close to your heart, and I just have a feeling that we are going to fall in love with each other. Who knows...I just might be that very special little dog that you have always wanted and dreamed about. Won't you help me make my dreams come true for a new forever home with you? I'd only need a smallish yard, where I could enjoy myself, and I'd love one of those comfy and soft dog beds of my very own in the house, so that I could always be close to my person or my family. About Our Shelter...
We are the Animal Shelter for the City of El Cajon. We also house animals for the City of La Mesa. We take in strays and animals relinquished by their owners from these two City's only. We adopt out the animals that are not claimed by their owners. You do not have to live within the City to adopt an animal from us. We sometimes have animals other than dogs and cats.

We are located in the City of El Cajon which is east of San Diego. 1275 N. Marshall is two blocks north of Fletcher Parkway, Marshall runs parallel with the trolley tracks.

We are open Tuesday thru Saturday 10am to 5pm. The latest we start an adoption is 4:30. We are closed Sundays and Mondays.
Our Adoption Process...
Our adoption fee for dogs is $80.00 and cats are $80.00 All other animal adoption fee's are based on the type of animal.

We do an evaluation with you and the animal to be sure that it is the best animal for you. We require that all children in the household under 9 years old be evaluated with the animal and if you are adopting a dog and you currently own a dog, your dog needs to be evaluated with the new dog to be sure they get along.
