Jackie's Story...
"Hi there everyone! My name is JACKIE, and I'm an adorable and very sweet little four-year-old Chihuahua lady who is in need of a new forever home. I'm very, very petite, and almost look like a little deer. I love being held and sitting in a lap, but I also enjoy going on walks to get my exercise. I will sit on command, and I've already been house trained. I'd be an excellent family pet, and I get along nicely with other dogs. I'd be happy in an apartment or a house. When it is very quiet here at the shelter at night, that is a very special time for all of us animals, because that is the time when we share our hopes and dreams with each other of finding a new forever home. I'll tell you one thing, and that is...a trip to our shelter wouldn't be complete until we have had a chance to meet and get to know each other, so just ask one of our kind Shelter Staff to introduce you to the very special little Chihuahua girl whose name is JACKIE, and we just might discover that we are meant to be best friends forever. Who knows...I just might be that precious little dog that you have always wanted and dreamed about. Won't you help me make my dreams come true for a new forever home with you? About Our Shelter...
We are the Animal Shelter for the City of El Cajon. We also house animals for the City of La Mesa. We take in strays and animals relinquished by their owners from these two City's only. We adopt out the animals that are not claimed by their owners. You do not have to live within the City to adopt an animal from us. We sometimes have animals other than dogs and cats.

Come Meet Our Pets...
We are located in the City of El Cajon which is east of San Diego. 1275 N. Marshall is two blocks north of Fletcher Parkway, Marshall runs parallel with the trolley tracks.

We are open Tuesday thru Saturday 10am to 5pm. The latest we start an adoption is 4:30. We are closed Sundays and Mondays.
Our Adoption Process...
Our adoption fee for dogs is $80.00 and cats are $80.00 All other animal adoption fee's are based on the type of animal.

We do an evaluation with you and the animal to be sure that it is the best animal for you. We require that all children in the household under 9 years old be evaluated with the animal and if you are adopting a dog and you currently own a dog, your dog needs to be evaluated with the new dog to be sure they get along.
