Cody's Story...
Cody is a Border Collie mix - about 60 pounds. He is about 2 1/2 year old and was surrendered after the owner had medical issues and found he could no longer care for an active dog. Cody a very friendly...and handsome!.... and his foster says he will make a great family pet! He is very well-behaved and has wonderful house manners, including being house-trained. Cody gets along fine with cats, dogs and kids! Cody is very active and social. It seems to be that he wants to "get to know everyone" and if he sees another dog or something exciting going on, he wants to be a part of it. He will need to be in an active home where there is lots to keep him busy. If you would like to meet Cody, complete an application at to get started.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cody, a Richmond Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
