Josie's Story...
Josie is a sweet and petite blue classic tabby with adorable white feet! This sweet girl is less than a year old but has already been a momma! Found as a stray, Josie gave birth to 3 kittens while at Chicago Animal Care and Control. The following day, an orphan kitten was found, and since Josie was the only nursing mom in the building, she took him on as well!

She's done nursing her babies, and now is ready for a home of her own. Josie doesn't require a lot, as she's a quiet girl. She loves canned food, warm laps, and nice pillows. She will hug you when you hold her, and enjoys being scratched behind the ears. She does well with other cats, but isn't too sure about dogs.

Josie is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated against distemper and rabies, combo-tested negative for FIV/Leuk, and treated for all parasites.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Josie, a Addison Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Addison, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Addison.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Addison already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Addison breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Addison paves the way for another one to be saved.
