Meet Guisieppe. He is a stunning senior GSD who has been evalutated by an SGSR volunteer. He has a very sad story. He was purchased by a family in a very upscale area as a puppy where he spent his whole life loving them, watching over the kids and being a good boy. Until they decided to get a small dog and they booted him outside in the dead of winter where he was banned to their yard. Being a big boy, he was very much able to climb the 3 foot fence. He ended up roaming the streets and kind neighbor's time and time again took him to the local vet afraid he would be killed by a car or severely injured. The owners have since surrendered him to the vet clinic. Unfortunately, he still needs a forever home to live out his remaining golden years instead of the concrete block where he is. As kind as the vet office is, this is no place for a 9 year old GSD. The vet recently took x-rays and found that he does have some arthritis in his hips and left elbow, but hey, that is managable. He is good with all people and house trained. Update: Guisieppe went home with one of SGSR's volunteers and we quickly learned that he is a dominant male. He does not do well with other male dogs. He seems fine with female dogs, but we have not had him indoors. He is fine with dogs on lead, while walking, but when he is inside, he prefers to be the king of the castle, but I think I would too if I was his size. He seems good with cats, in a controlled situation on lead, he just barked, but when the cat approach this BIG boy backed right up and leaned against his handler. If you are interested in this stunningly handsome older fellow please contact email@example.com and give him a chance at a forever life! If you are interested we can arrange to get him to our local adoption events in NC at Youngsville or Durham! Guisieppe is completely house trained and he is fine with free roam. He loves his toys and he loves his bed, he is wonderful with kids and loves all people!

Rescue Group Info...
Southeast German Shepherd Rescue; a non-profit organization dedicated to saving lives and creating lasting change for unwanted, neglected, and abandoned German Shepherd Dogs. Our priorities are to ensure that each dog we rescue is protected, provided with proper medical care, well-nourished and able to thrive in a loving forever home.
Our adoption process consists of three steps (Vet Interview, Phone Interview, Home Visit) after an initial application is filled out. Once all three steps are successfully completed then the adopter and their coordinator will work together to find the right dog. Our adoption fee is $250.
