Ruff Ruff! My name is Trixee
|Breed:||German Shepherd Dog/Basenji Mix||Color:||Red/Golden/Orange/Chestnut||Age:||Adult|
|Size:||Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)||Sex:||Female|
I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Trixie is an active and very sweet dog. She is a little shy at first, but once she warms up to you. She is very loving. She's mastered the puppy dog eyes and will do anything for a treat and rub down. Her favorite toy is a laser light, she loves to chase that little red dot all over the house! Trixie is housebroken, crate trained, and able to follow basic commands. She is a very quick learner! She is also wonderful with cats, puppies, other dogs and little children. She is very patient and will cuddle up to anything when given the chance. She seems to be part German Shepherd with possibly some Basenji mix and is about 2 years old. If you are interested in meeting her please email her foster mom at firstname.lastname@example.org or fill out an adoption application online at http://forgottendogs.org/adoption_application.html. Thanks.

Rescue Group Info...
We rescue in a low income area of Houston called the 5th Ward. We founded Forgotten Dogs of the 5th Ward Project November of 2011 to address what we saw as an obvious need to help the many stray dogs we were seeing in there. We set up feeding stations and network and pull as many as we can when a foster home or no-kill rescue group says they can take them in. One of our goals is education and we provide residents with vouchers that cover the complete cost of having their animals altered and vaccinated against rabies. In addition, we provide other vaccinations and worming in the field free of charge. Since November 2011 we have grown in size and have rescued over 300 dogs and a few cats from the area. We are launching a program called Habitat for Hounds through which we will donate doghouses and blankets to residents for their dogs that are kept outside. Our website is forgottendogs.org and we are a 501c3.
We do not have a regular adoption site at this time, but stay tuned to our facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/ForgottenDogs5) for our upcoming events!
Our adoption fee is $125. We have an online application and a contract and all dogs/puppies are either spayed/neutered prior to adoption if old enough or arrangements are made to have them spayed/neutered afterwards.
