Sophia's Story...
Hi, my name is Sophia and I'm 12-14 months old I am a black and tan
Coonhound and my story is very sad with a happy ending. It will be
even happier if you take me home with you! I was just a young pup when
my owners decided they didn't want me anymore so they drove me out to
the country and put me out of the car to survive on my own. I was
found a couple of months later starved almost to death and pregnant. I
was only 8 months old when I had my babies in this rescue place. I am
very healthy now and up to date on all my shots. I am spayed and
heart worm negative. I like to chase cats so I prefer that you don't
have any so I can concentrate on you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sophia, a Hagerstown Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Coonhound for sale in Hagerstown, or seeking a Coonhound dog from a breeder in Hagerstown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hagerstown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hagerstown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Coonhound breeders who help with Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hagerstown paves the way for another one to be saved.
