Pete's Story...
Meet Sweet Pete !!, This good ole' country boy is estimated to be 7 years old. He is fully vetted, heart worm negative, and walks well on a leash. He is left alone in the house all day and he doesn't mess with anything. He was found as a stray and no owner was ever found. He is being fostered by a college student who is getting ready to graduate and cant take Pete with him. Pete is a lovable boy who knows basic commands and he passed his temperament test with flying colors. He does well with other dogs, but we are not sure about cats or children. Pete is just a big ole baby how just wants to be with his human. He has the dreamiest brown eyes and he smiles all the time.If you can give Pete a nice place for his retirement years, please email kim.southernrootsrescue@gmail.com for info and an application.
Pete is fostered in Knoxville TN

About Our Rescue Group...
We are a small, non profit, all volunteer organization that has been dedicating our spare time to save Southern dogs in need for over 7 years. We are located in Knoxville TN. Our goal is to reduce the number of dogs in the "high kill" overpopulated shelters in our region and find them permanent loving homes. We are not breed specific, but are committed to the breeds and mixes that tend to be overly abundant in the southern states. We adopt to both local families and families in the Northeast. We place most of our orphans in homes in the northeast by offering USDA certified transport services.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pete, a Brattleboro Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Brattleboro, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Brattleboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brattleboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brattleboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brattleboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
