Rex's Story...
Stunning Dutch Shepherd Mix Ready for Love!
Rex is the most stunning guy! It is hard to believe that someone could take him home and then just leave him in the back yard! Unfortunately, that is how Rex spent the 1st year of his life. His family dumped him at the shelter after he got bored sitting out there all day and started to dig. Rex has been bounced around a lot over the past couple of weeks and we still have a lot to learn about him. We do know that he is a high energy dog and needs room to run. He is learning house manners and really enjoys playing with the other dogs. He was interested in the cat until the cat put him in his place but if your cat is not a tough kitty with claws- then he is not for you! He will go after parrots. Rex loves to run and enjoys his ears and belly rubbed. He will make a great companion for the right family! Rex is about 75lbs and we believe that he is a Dutch Shepherd mix. He is being fostered near Annapolis, MD.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rex, a Frederick Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Frederick, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Frederick.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Frederick already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Frederick breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Frederick paves the way for another one to be saved.
