Jackson's Story...
Jackson - Beautiful Hound/Shepherd Mix for Adoption!

Are you looking for a sweet and loving dog? Jackson was originally rescued from a high kill shelter in North Carolina. He was adopted by a loving family who fell on hard times. He is now a little lost and looking for a new forever home. His nickname is "Relaxin' Jackson" and he really lives up to it. He's laid back but enjoys playing with his family and outside.

Some of Jackson's fantastic qualities:
Perfect age. Jackson is 3 years old. He's a healthy 65lbs, could probably stand to lose a few.
Excellent House Manners Jackson would cuddle all day with you if you'd let him, but he understands you have things to do. So when you're busy, Jackson is happy to go off for a nap or watch some TV on his own. He doesn't chew or get in to trouble. He acknowledges house boundaries very well too. He is not a "door dasher" (major plus)
Very intelligent. Jackson went through in-home training with his previous owners and is very aware of correct behaviors.
Good with people and children. Jackson is happy to meet new people, as indicated by his ever-wagging tail. His previous family had several kids that he loved to be around
Loves the outdoors. There is nothing better than a long walk! All those scents to smell and squirrels/rabbits/birds to see... what more could a dog ask for?!
LOVES to Love. Jackson can always use a hug or a pet, making every day special!
Excited about car rides. Jackson LOVES car rides, and rides very well.
Ready to enter your family. He is up to date on all shots, neutered.
Extremely low maintenance. Jackson is a super easy dog to care for. His medium length coat won't leave fur balls around your house. He loves to be near you, but is happy going off to take a nap if you're busy.
House Trained. 'nuff said! He can hold it all day goes straight for the door when he has to go.
Excellent Pup for single, couple, or family Jackson just wants to be spoiled with love and affection.
Excellent with Children Jackson has lived with children for the last several years and is extremely gentle with them.
Great with other dogs Jackson lived with a buddy before being returned to the rescue and currently lives with a great dane.
Likely good with cats Though Jackson hasn't lived with cats, his relaxed personality likely wouldn't mind having one around.
Jackson is fostered in Linthicum Heights, MD.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jackson, a Frederick Hound (Unknown Type)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Frederick, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Frederick.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Frederick already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Frederick breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Frederick paves the way for another one to be saved.
