Roscoe's Story...

This dog is eligible to have its adoption fee waived if adopted on the June 1st Maddie's Adoptathon weekend. Please apply early as all other steps of the adoption process, home check and meeting family, need to be completed by June 2nd.

Roscoe is 7 years old and weighs about 21 pounds. Despite his age he is an extremely active dog! In his foster home he is getting at least two long walks/ jogs a day and trips to the dog park and beach a few times a week, but even with that he would probably be happy with more exercise! In the house he really does settle down and is very mellow!

Roscoe is a real people pleaser, he listens really well to commands like sit, stay, and shake. We are working on down and "leave it". He is very affectionate and loving - he always wants to be by me and involved with whatever is going on, if he is not by my side he is usually napping somewhere! He is very cuddly and loves to nap on laps and curl up with me in bed. He is very good with people and dogs after a proper introduction. He rides really well in the car unless he spots a dog outside. We are not sure how he is with children or cats, but would recommend a home without small children. He does pull on is leash walking, he is so energetic once he gets outside that he just wants to "go,go,go" but that is improving! He is a bit of a guard dog, and has a fit when someone that doesn't belong comes in but after a few minutes and a greeting he is thrilled to have someone new to get a belly scratch from! Roscoe is a WONDERFUL companion! He shows a lot of love for his care taker and just wants to make you happy, he is a lot of fun to have around. He loves playing fetch and being outside, especially at the beach playing in the water! He is 100% house trained, and is okay being left home alone for a few hours (especially if he has a new bone to keep him occupied!)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Roscoe, a San Francisco Jack Russell Terrier/Fox Terrier (Smooth) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier/Fox Terrier (Smooth) for sale in San Francisco, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier/Fox Terrier (Smooth) dog from a breeder in San Francisco.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Francisco already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Francisco breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier/Fox Terrier (Smooth) breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier/Fox Terrier (Smooth) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Francisco paves the way for another one to be saved.
