Eugene's Story...
Eugene is a super lovable boy, that thinks he is indestructible. He was found by a fosters neighbor: cold, wet, underweight, and not using one of his legs. His limp was found to be a bad break, which needed the ball joint and top of his femur removed to correct. After a few weeks of therapy he was running and jumping on it, though he does have a limp. Through the entire thing he has been a very happy boy that loves to gives cuddles and headbutts, with a strong purr. Eugene is a bit of a goofball, often rolling over or jumping and expecting his person to catch him, and loves to chase toys of all sorts through the house. His favorite toys have feathers or fur, and he will carry them around growling at everything. At times Eugene will go missing in the house, as he likes to put himself into all sorts of boxes, bags and anything he can fit himself into. If you're sitting down and not giving him the attention he desires he will climb onto your lap and paw and headbutt your face until you give in to him. An easy going boy, he likes other cats, isn't concerned about dogs at all, and is happy to cuddle most people he meets.

All of our cats and kittens have been fostered in a home environment and are litter box trained, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, spayed/neutered, and have been tested for FIV and FeLV prior to being made available for adoption.

About Our Rescue Group...
Our mission is to effect change in the way community cats are viewed and treated in the City of Edmond.

Our primary focus is to humanely and non-lethally reduce the numbers of free-roaming community cats in the City of Edmond by implementing an aggressive Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program.

TNR is the most effective long-term approach to reducing the feral cat population in the City of Edmond. TNR involves humanely trapping, spaying/neutering, vaccinating, marking for identification, and then returning of feral cats to the location from which they were trapped so that they may live out their lives. TNR respects feral cats' right to live, and their niche in the community, without adding to the homeless cat population. TNR stabilizes the feral cat population and, over time, reduces it while substantially reducing or eliminating nuisance behaviors.

Through the process of TNR, we regularly encounter friendly, unowned, stray cats as well as young kittens that can be socialized. All are vetted and put into adoption.

Our Adoption Process...
Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescued cat. Each year there are tens of thousands of cats that are made homeless in Oklahoma City and the surrounding areas. Sadly, there are more cats than there are suitable homes.

We take adoptions very seriously. Our adoptable cats are typically found as strays trying to survive in feral cat colonies where they were either abandoned, neglected, or abused. We are the only advocates for the cats we rescue, and feel that it is critical for our adoptable cats be placed in safe, loving, caring and permanent homes. Whether you plan to adopt an adult cat or a kitten, you are making a 10-20 year commitment to that feline. Therefore, we reserve the right to deny the adoption of a cat to anyone whom we feel will not provide humane, responsible, and lifetime care of the cat.

All of our cats and kittens have been fostered in a home environment and are litter box trained, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, spayed/neutered, and have been tested for FIV and FeLV prior to being made available for adoption.

Though not a requirement in most cases, we encourage you to at least consider adopting kittens in pairs. Kittens find it especially comforting – and having a built-in playmate often helps them integrate into their new family more easily.
