Wakoona - Terrific Tortie!'s Story...
ADOPTED MAY 2013 Meet Wakoona! She is a petite 6-lb, healthy, housetrained 4-year-old soft and silky Tortoiseshell who will be spayed and given all shots before being adopted. She lives with and is great with another cat, rabbit and a guinea pig. She lives with and is great with tweens / teens; older kids would be fine. Wakoona needs a new home because she is so friendly that she doesn't know enough to run and hide when the family's dog starts to play rough. She toughs it out and the family is afraid she will get seriously hurt. She can easily live with a dog - just a friendly one please! Wakoona is an indoor-only kitty who loves running for her treats. She is described as a great companion who is affectionate and sweet as they come! Did you know that myth has it that Tortoiseshell cats can see into the future? Are you in hers?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Wakoona - Terrific Tortie!, a Huntsville Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Huntsville, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Huntsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Huntsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Huntsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Huntsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
