Fiona's Story...
Fiona is a one year old Chihuahua that is as cute as a button and super affectionate. Fiona is one sweet cookie!! She loves to be held and will be your shadow. Fiona is timid of sudden movements and loud voices so needs a bit of patience - but you will be rewarded with lots of kisses! She is not comfortable walking on a leash; her foster parents have been working with her, but would do best in a home with a fenced yard for potty breaks. She is good with other dogs and cats, even big dogs do not faze her! If you would like to meet Fiona, please complete an application at www.henricohumane.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fiona, a Richmond Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
