Sidney's Info...
| Breed: | Boxer | Color: | Tan/Yellow/Fawn | Age: | Adult |
| Size: | Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg) | Sex: | Female | ID#: | 5496993 |
I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, a special needs pet, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Sidney came to Almost Home by way of the Tucson AC&C. She may be small in body, but she is big in heart and love. She is the sweetest little thing EVER!! She is so easy. She would be great in a forever home with other dogs or by herself; either way. She just loves human attention; kisses and belly rubs!
Sidney isn't very keen on going into the crate. Don't let her little size fool you; she will tear up a wire crate and escape! She does MUCH better in a plastic crate; she doesn't like going in, but once she is in, she's ok (she is getting better at this). She is totally house trained, great on the leash, and sleeps all night on the dog bed beside the human bed (although she would love to cuddle up and sleep with you in the human bed!). Sidney has tested positive for Valley Fever and has started meds for this. But this sweet girl doesn't let a little VF get her down! She is full of life and is a very happy girl; her little nub is constantly wiggling and she always has a smile.
It appears that Sidney does have some trust issues. I don't know who couldn't love this precious girl, but it seems that this poor little thing was not treated very nice in her prior life; when you call her name, she must think she is in trouble because she cowers down and scampers away from you. She is a bit timid until she warms up to you. This sweet girl just needs a ton of love so she can regain her trust and confidence in humans again.
DOGS: Fine with them.
CATS: Doesn't care about them.
KIDS: Would do great with them.
HOUSETRAINED: Yes
OBEDIENCE TRAINING: Has great house manners but does need to be taught basic obedience.
CRATE SKILLS: Tolerates it.
LEASH SKILLS: Great on leash!
DROOL FACTOR: Not so much
PERKS & QUIRKS: She has 'radar' ears. They will keep you laughing!
HEALTH STATUS: I have tested NEGATIVE for heartworm, ehrlichiosis, lyme disease and anaplasmosis. I am on medication for Valley Fever and will need to stay on the medication until your vet approves me to come off of them.
ENERGY LEVEL: Low, but I love my walks!

Rescue Group Info...
We are a private, volunteer, non-profit 501(c)3 organization. We are dedicated to the rescue of unwanted, neglected, and abandoned pets. We specialize in boxers, but for the perfect home we can help you find the perfect pet, or point you to a rescue who can. We provide food, shelter, medical attention, and TLC during our rescues wait for the "RIGHT" forever home.
All of our dogs are in foster homes throughout the valley - we do not have a shelter that you can visit. Once you submit an application, your references are checked and the home visit is complete, we will contact you to set up a satisfactory meeting place for a get-together with your potential adoptive pet.
Our dogs are cared for in foster homes during this wait. We try to have them in a foster home environment for at least 2 weeks. They are temperament tested to the best of our ability to ensure a perfect match into their new home. Our number one concern is for the safety of the adoptive family and the happiness of the pet. We strive for a FOREVER placement - not all dogs are perfect for all families. We don't want to place "A" dog in your home - we want to place "THE" dog for your family!
We can't save every dog but we can make a difference...one dog at a time!
We are desperately seeking foster homes for our wonderful dogs! We also accept used crates or donations of any kind!
Please contact us about a specific pet - we do not have a shelter facility. All pets are in foster homes around the state of Arizona.
We prefer e-mail to cut down on cell phone minute usage! Once an application is submitted, it is reviewed, references are checked, and a home visit is done. If approved, we will contact you about the dog you are interested in. We want to place these dogs with the "RIGHT" families so it may take a bit to find that dog for you, please be patient.
We adopt within the state of Arizona or surrounding areas where there is no active boxer rescue.
