My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kwinkle is a 9# almost 1 year old baby doll who looks like a Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund designer dog). He has velvety soft black fur with a pretty patch of white on his chest.

This little guy has loads of puppy charm and he is very sweet and affectionate. He is a little bit shy at first but warms up quickly and then becomes his usual friendly, playful self, giving out kisses freely. Kwinkle adores cuddles and hugs and is a snuggly lap baby.

He is a happy, fun and playful boy but he is not overly energetic. Kwinkle is well behaved in the house and easy to live with, a real pleasure.

He likes to keep busy and would really enjoy another pup to play with in his new home. He is really good about sharing his space, toys and food, does not seem to be possessive at all.

Kwinkle seems like he would also be very good with well mannered kids. He loves to be handled and is never ill tempered, always sweet. He loves to roll around on the floor and play with people (and dogs!). He is such as good natured guy. He just needs to get to know you first and then he is 100% yours, totally in love with all kinds of people. Unlike many Chi mixes, he is not just a one person dog, but loves everyone in the family.

He is naturally submissive and gentle and he is quiet in his room at the shelter. He also keeps his room clean and has had no accidents. Based on a stay at a foster home recently, he might be housetrained since he was a very good boy while there. He will sleep quietly in a crate all night.

He is very good on the leash, never pulls, and enjoys taking walks and exploring even though he hasn't had a whole lot of experience out in the big wide world.

Kwinkle fetches like a pro, dropping the ball for you after bringing it back. He is also good with other dogs he meets on walks since he has a pretty mellow personality. Big, boisterous ones kind of scare him, though.

This little guy is a wonderful boy and is very much looking forward to his very own family to snuggle with in the evenings after a day of fun. He was surrendered by an owner who could no longer keep him.

Do you have a lonely little pup at home who needs a really great companion? Kwinkle is a must! He would also be fine as an only dog if people were home fairly often and he had some gentle kids & fun grown ups to play with.

Please do not apply for him if you work full time and would need to confine him to a crate for 8-9 hours. He is much too playful and sociable for that!
