Toby's Story...
Hi I am Toby. What a wonderful breed mix I am. I am active, loyal and have plenty of smarts. I will do best with folks who are familiar with my breeds and will teach and train me accordingly. I will want to protect my person since I am so extremely loyal , so a family with older kids 12+ will be better suited for me. I am housebroken, crate trained, and get along with other dogs. I really am a people dog though so the love of a person is what I am wanting, not a playmate. I consider myself a ladies man so I do warm up quicker to women than I do men, but give me a few minutes and I am just as comfortable with the guys too. I would love to find a home where I can get all the love I long for in a low key, low traffic household. 5 years old- 55lbs. My adoption fee is $160 and includes; neuter, microchip, 5 week Training Class, free veterinary exam (SE Portland/Milwaukie area) ,1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & Treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Toby, a Portland Australian Shepherd/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd/Border Collie for sale in Portland, or seeking a Australian Shepherd/Border Collie dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd/Border Collie breeders who help with Australian Shepherd/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
