Lancer's Story...
Lancer and some of his friends came to Homeless Pets Foundation when the south GA shelter they were in had to shut down. He's a healthy and friendly 1 year old (b. March 2012) German short-haired pointer. Like most GSP's, he's enthusiastic, high-energy and human-oriented. He's especially loving and will give you smooches over and over if your face is within smooching distance! GSP's are highly trainable and Lancer should be no exception. Lancer is good-natured and gets along fine with other dogs. He's gorgeous and so lovable! If you need a running pal or hiking buddy, Lancer would be happy to help you out! The family who adopts Lancer will need to be committed to giving him the energy outlets he needs to stay happy and healthy.

Email adoptions@homelesspets.com for more info or fax an application (found at homelesspets.com/adoptions) to 770-971-1292. Or come let him out of his cage (he'll be so happy you did) at 1343 Gresham Rd, Marietta 30062 (Mon-Thurs 8-8, Fri 8-6).

Adoption fees include one wellness check-up, micro-chipping and neutering and earn you 25% off at Tenasity.com dog training!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lancer, a Marietta German Shorthaired Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shorthaired Pointer for sale in Marietta, or seeking a German Shorthaired Pointer dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shorthaired Pointer breeders who help with German Shorthaired Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
