Yuri's Story...
Yuri is an active and curious 1 year old, 70lbs, smooth hair Aussie Shepherd that loves to run, and play with his human friends and dog friends of all sizes. He can be found lying at your feet, snuggle right next to you, or around the house as long as you are in sight. Being deaf, he’s learned hand commands for sit, stay, lie, and come. And he is treat and affection motivated. He does require a fenced yard, as he will not hear that he is being called, and does great on a leash. He’s house trained and knows how to use a dog door. His favorite place to sleep at night is with his human. He loads into the car easily and loves car rides. He will protect his home and those that live there from danger. He is crate trained, although he doesn't like to be in there long. He is eager to learn, love, play, and please. He’s looking for a forever family that will love, play, and give him the time, affection, and willingness he deserves. If you think Yuri would be the perfect addition to your life, please complete a statement of interest under the ADOPT tab at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Yuri, a Bellingham Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Bellingham, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Bellingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
