TATER's Story...
Tater was found February 10th wandering the streets of Oakland by two acquaintances of ours.  He was emaciated and wearing a collar that was so tight it had rubbed all the fur off of his neck.  They took him in and had him in their home for about two weeks while trying to find Tater's original owner.  We came to have Tater about a month ago.  During that time we have been taking him to the "Pit Ed" obedience class run by Bad Rap, a pit bull rescue and advocacy ground, where he has been learning basic obediance and other skills. Tater is a very sweet dog with an excellent personality.  He lived with another dog for two weeks and got along with that dog very well. On walks, he is reactive to other dogs, but has made a lot of progress on that behavior.  He knows all his basic commands, is housebroken and crate trained.  He currently weighs about 70lbs, but will probably gain between 5 and 10 more pounds before he is at a healthy weight.  He appears to be a boxer/pit bull mix.  He has a beautiful brown coat that does not shed very much.  He has white-tipped paws and a white splash on his chest.  He also has a little white around his nose and between his eyes.  He loves to cuddle on the couch and is generally very calm while in the house.  He is able to stay in his crate for long hours while we are at work, and our neighbors have not reported hearing any barking.  He likes to play fetch and keep away.  He is good with children, though he is very strong.  He is a great dog and deserves a great home.

Please fill out an adoption application. After review, one of our volunteers will contact you to answer your questions and to set up a home check and a meeting with the dogs. Inquiries WITHOUT the application will NOT be answered. Here is the link:

About Sachi Animal Rescue - Los Angeles

About Our Rescue Group...

Sachi Animal Rescue was created in September 2009 by a group of dog loving volunteers. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization staffed entirely by volunteers who donate their time and money to find homes for hard to place canines. We specialize in rescuing, rehabilitating and placing companion dogs(primarily, but not exclusively, the Boxer breed) that have otherwise been abandoned and neglected or abused, into loving homes.
We do this because there is such a huge amount of dogs euthanized every day who could have been great pets if only they'd been given the chance. We do this because even though saving one life at a time may seem futile, one life saved is still a victory.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Sachi Animal rescue does not operate a kennel. Our dogs are currently boarded in foster homes or training facilities. Dogs will be shown by private appointments only.

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption donation starts at $300.00 .
In order to first qualify for an appointment, applicants are required to fill out a thorough questionnaire about their home, lifestyle, dog experience as well as insurance coverage for certain breeds, adequate fencing, etc. We want to make sure the dog will be a full time member of the family and be treated as such, all his/her needs will be met and exceeded and will never be denied medical coverage.
Once the potential adopter qualifies, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the dog(s).
Going forward, the adopter will fill out a Sachi Animal Rescue adoption contract .
The dog will not be delivered to the adopter until a thorough homecheck has been done.
Trainers will be available free of charge to make sure the transition into the home goes smoothly.
