Pixie is being fostered in Lancaster, PA. Please click 'SEE MORE' to read Pixie's full description.
Pixie is SO sweet. She is a total love bug! Pixie came into the rescue in early October 2012 after she showed up on someones porch suffering from severe malnutrition and mastitis. She went to the vet right away and got treatment for the mastitis along with a weight gain plan. She has recovered beautifully and is ready for a forever family! She is a true survivor and deserves a loving forever family. Pixie needs to be adopted with another cat, or into a family with an existing cat. When Pixie is alone, with no people or other cats, she cries constantly. She is very social and needs constant company. An ideal home for Pixie would be someone who is home a lot of the time and has a social cat already in the home, or she could also be adopted with nearly any other cat from the rescue.
From her foster mom: 'Pixie is the best! She has no issues at all, she has great manners with her scratching post and litter box, she plays with appropriate toys, and LOVES to snuggle!! She has flawless social skills with other cats, and misses her cat buddies when she is away from them. Pixie never meets a stranger, everyone who comes to visit is a new best friend! Every morning after my alarm goes off she comes up onto the bed to make sure I am getting up! She rubs her face on mine and purrs to make sure I am awake!'
Pixie does not like going to adoption events, she does not show her true personality while at the adoption events. We do take her to the adoption events most Saturday afternoons, but she just sleeps the whole time! To truly get to know Pixie we offer a foster-to-adopt program that allows families to take her home for 2-4 weeks and get to know her, if she would not work out for any reason her foster mom is willing to take her back and foster her a while longer until a good fitting forever family can be found.
Pixie is about two years old, she is spayed, vaccinated, and tested negative for FIV/ FeLV. She weighs about 6.5 pounds, and our vet says she is a a very healthy weight for her petite size.
Pixie is good with calm dogs, and needs to be in a home with at least one other cat.
