Bernie's Story...
Bernie (Bernard) is a total sweetheart. He is very intelligent and very loving. He would make a wonderful agility dog as he can and will jump three feet in the air on command. Bernie sits on command, too, and probably knows plenty of other words that his foster parents have not discovered yet.

Bernie is approx. 2 years old. He was taken from his previous owner who neglected him. Despite his previous neglect, Bernie loves everyone. He gets along just fine with every dog he's met except Boxers and even seems to be a bit afraid of the cats.

Bernie ended up with a Greyhound adoption group because the kill shelter he was in misidentified him as a Greyhound mix. We think Bernie is actually about 95% Lab. Bernie is currently located in Pittsburgh, PA.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bernie, a Windsor Heights Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Windsor Heights, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Windsor Heights.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Windsor Heights already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Windsor Heights breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Windsor Heights paves the way for another one to be saved.
