Hello – my name is Kringle and boy, do I have a story to tell you. I belonged to some folks who moved out of the trailer park and left me behind to fend for myself. I roamed the trailer park for about 3 months and managed to survive, although there was a group of kids that made it a game to torment me.
Just before Christmas, someone hit me with an object hard enough to completely break one of my back legs. Here I was, wondering in the cold and rain with no shelter, barely any food and a broken leg. After 3 days someone in the trailer park called a lady who came and picked me up and got me in with Valley Dogs Rescue.
Originally, the veterinarians thought they would have to amputate my leg (my paw was twisted completely around from me dragging the broken leg). However, Valley Dogs took me to an orthopedic specialist. Since the break was a clean snap and not a shatter, he was able to save the leg by placing a plate in it to hold it together while it healed. The fracture is completely healed thanks to his good work! Doctor says I will not have any problems from the break in my leg. My foster family has been taking fabulous care of me while I recovered. They have taught me how to use a doggy door and how not to be quite so afraid of people (it’s hard for me to trust with all I’ve been through). I am learning to walk on a lead, but I am completely potty trained. Even with my cast and collar I did not make any messes in the house as long as I was taken outside.
I am also doing well with the other dogs in my foster home. I am now ready for a wonderful, loving family who will treat me the way a special little guy should be treated. I love to cuddle on laps and lay next to you on the couch. I love my pillow that was given to me after my surgery. I am also crate trained, although I love to be around you as much as I can. I also thoroughly enjoy laying out in the back yard and sunning myself. It will take me a bit to understand that you will not hurt me, but once I know that and bond with you, I will be your bestest little buddy. Wouldn’t you like to give me the home I have been wanting for so long?
