Keegan's Story...
Meet Keegan - This sweet dog was living underneath a duplex near Pearson & Lombardy in East End Houston. When discovered in February 2013 he was very thin and skittish. It took a few weeks but he finally warmed up to a trusting human and was eager for a new life.

Keegan is approximately 1-2 years old. He received all of his vaccinations and was neutered and micro chipped. Because of street life, he was treated for intestinal worms and started heartworm preventives. He was lucky to get into a great foster home where he loves to play and romp with other dogs. He loves the ball and definitely shows signs of a lab retriever/border collie mix. Can you give this beautiful boy the home he so deserves.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Keegan, a Houston Border Collie/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever for sale in Houston, or seeking a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Border Collie/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
