Molly Lovett's Story...
3.13.2013 Molly is doing wonderful! She is in the process of weaning her four needy children and grabing some alone time without the kids (every parents dream!). She is as sweet as can be, but is very timid, yet eager to please and receive affection. All you need to do to get her attention is sit on the floor, and before you know it will be beside you with her tail wagging.

She is housebroken and sits by the door and waits to be let out, so is ideal for a family that does not have the time to housebreak a dog. She is recenty starting to venture out and about in her foster home on her own Probably in an effort to escape the pups that always want her to feed them! She will find a comfy space in the living room or a bed especially for her, and just be content there.

Molly deserves a wonderful family of humans to call her own - do you have a last name you can share with her for the rest of her life?

Molly is a momma to 4 precious pups and will be available for adoption mid March when her babies are fully weaned. She came from a hoarding situation and gave birth while in the shelter. She is about 40 lbs and very timid and reserved - but not feral. Just adorable small girl, very quiet and appreciative of your love. This is what her foster Mommy said about Molly:

Molly update: She is really coming around and starting to get comfortable with me. She will not go outside by herself yet, but once we are outside(I carry her out) she has started walking around. Well, I have to get down with her and talk to her, but she doesn't just cower in fear. She has also successfully gone to the bathroom outside twice!!! And then actually walked back inside with me (not carrying her)! I was really worried about the weaning. Molly does not just venture out and do things on her own. She stays where she is comfortable, in the kitchen with the pups. So I'd feed them and then they would go over to her and eat anyway... Then I realized what the door was for :o) and I blocked them. After 2 days of sitting by them, making sure they continue to eat food and not go to mom to nurse, today was a little better! I fed molly first, then took them out of the pen and fed them just in the kitchen while Molly slept happily in her box. After their bellies were full I put the gate on the box, put the puppies in the pen with "Emmets" big dog bed. They all snuggled together and went 2 hours without mom! Then we played, then they nursed a bit. Molly is a wonderful dog! So gentle and such a sweet disposition...

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Molly Lovett, a Lancaster Feist/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Feist/Labrador Retriever for sale in Lancaster, or seeking a Feist/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Lancaster.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lancaster already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lancaster breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Feist/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Feist/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lancaster paves the way for another one to be saved.
