Kiara Sweitzer's Story...
7/25/13 Update from Kiara's Foster family:

Kiara is now 13 months old an 56 lbs and is housebroken.

Woof woof! Say hi to gorgeous Kiara.

Kiara has learned so much during her time with us. She has learned quickly what it's like to be part of a family. She is housebroken and knows basic commands of sit, come, down, and paw. She loves her humans but also loves her playtime and cuddle times with her 2 foster fur brothers and sister.
Kiara will need another dog in the home to follow as she depends on the companionship of them, She will be the other dogs shadow on walks and feels safe by picking up the easy demeanor of the dog she is with. She is still very shy around new people but with time, patience and help from another pup in the house, she learns to trust those around her. She watches her foster brothers and sister to know what is safe and what she can do.
She is always so happy to see you no matter what time of day. She loves to say, "Good Morning" with her little "groan" and a kiss and she will be the first to greet you at the door when you come back home.
Kiara also loves being outside and can't seem to get enough of it. She will run around, grab toys and throw them to play fetch by herself. She will also play with someone or the other pups. Her absolute favorite toy is tennis balls - any kind.

It has been amazing to watch her grow and learn how to play with toys, interact with a family, how to play and how to just have cuddle time on the couch. Things she has never had before and can truly enjoy now.
Any family who is lucky enough to adopt this beautiful, loving girl will have a faithful family member for life - always by your side.

She will run around, grab toys and throw them to play fetch by herself. She will also play with someone or the other pups. Kiara’s foster Mommy has nothing but wonderful things to say about this girl, as she is just the biggest sweetheart and baby. She has the most unique facial features that resemble a billy goat!! Her coat is absolutely beautiful and shines, just a striking looking puppy

She is very smart and willing to learn new things and Kiara gets along well with other dogs and children. Just ask her the 3 four-legged foster brothers and sister, as well as her human brother and sister. She loves to play with her fur-brothers, although she does love the chances she gets to gather all the toys for herself and play with them (smile)

After spending months in a shelter, she loves to cuddle up on the couch or have you give her chest rubs. You will get plenty of love and kisses in return from this little girl, as she knows this is something fantastic that she wasn’t receiving before. Any family would be absolutely
lucky to have her as a new fur baby!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kiara Sweitzer, a Lancaster Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Lancaster, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Lancaster.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lancaster already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lancaster breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lancaster paves the way for another one to be saved.
