Oskar's Story...
IDGSR Welcomes Oskar into the Safety of the Rescue! Oskar and his brother Titan were confiscated by animal control due to neglect & abandonment. Their previous owner left them without for long periods of time without proper care, shelter, and food. Their basic needs were not being met and it was an ongoing problem. Despite these hardships these boys are very sweet. Oskar is a 2 yr. old long hair Male German Shepherd. He is approx. 73lbs. but needs to gain some more weight as he is a little thin. Oskar will benefit from Obedience and training and much of that will come from daily interaction with his family. He craves human attention and contact. The very thing he so wants he was denied. He like most German Shepherds want to please their families and with that trust and love and consistency and routine and schedule comes a bond that brings about a wonderful loving relationship with a dog. Further evaluation and assessment and more updates as we get to know the boys better.
If you would like to make Oskar a part of your family, please apply with this rescue.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oskar, a Greeneville German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Greeneville, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Greeneville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Greeneville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Greeneville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Greeneville paves the way for another one to be saved.
