Poochie's Story...
This sweet baby is only 41/2 weeks old and won't be ready for her forever home for at least another 2-3 weeks, around the middle of April. Her litter was brought into the shelter with no mother and immediately went into to foster care. She has been bottle fed and is just now starting to eat solid foods along with taking bottles. She is the leader of the litter. She is the most vocal and demanding of the litter. She is also the sweetest little ball of fluff you will ever meet! She looks more like an australian shepherd with the softest downy fur. She will be ready to meet potential adopters in a week. If you are interested contact her foster mom Dana daykahn@gmail.com. She will have 2 sets of vaccinations and be spayed prior to adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Poochie, a Baton Rouge Australian Shepherd/Rottweiler puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd/Rottweiler for sale in Baton Rouge, or seeking a Australian Shepherd/Rottweiler puppy from a breeder in Baton Rouge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Baton Rouge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Baton Rouge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd/Rottweiler breeders who help with Australian Shepherd/Rottweiler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Baton Rouge paves the way for another one to be saved.
