Meeka's Story...
Meeka

Est. DOB: July 14, 2012
Description: DSH Brown Tabby
Gender: Female
Adoption Fee: $100.00

Meeka is a sweet girl who is always a lap cat with a super loud purr motor. She enjoys playing with toys and sometimes will play and chase other kitties in her foster home, but mostly we think she would like to be on only cat so she can have all the attention to herself. When she’s sitting on her foster mom’s lap, and another kitten comes up she grumbles at them and tells them to go away because the lap is all hers!

Meeka loves treats and is happiest when she’s snuggled up in a warm lap.

Meeka was found as a stray outside someone’s house shortly before Christmas.

Fully vetted: tested for FeLV/FIV (negative unless otherwise noted); treated for intestinal parasites, fleas, and ear mites; FVRCP+FeLV vaccinated (initial vaccination and booster); and rabies vaccinated; spayed/neutered; microchipped with Home Again microchips with shelter paid registration.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Meeka, a Apex Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Apex, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Apex.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Apex already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Apex breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Apex paves the way for another one to be saved.
