Sally's Story...
Lake Haven received an urgent plea from a shelter in Georgia requesting help with 28 puppies and 4 adult dogs. They were all scheduled to be euthanized and Lake Haven stepped in to help. These beautiful puppies and dogs arrived at Lake Haven on March 23, 2013. All were medicated, bathed, fed and placed in foster care. Updates will be provided as soon as we get them from each foster family.Sally is the momma to all of the puppies beginning with the letter "S". She arrived very frail and thin so Lake Haven will be working on fattening her up and giving her tons of TLC - she deserves that. She is super super sweet!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sally, a Newaygo Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Mountain Cur dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Mountain Cur for sale in Newaygo, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Mountain Cur dog from a breeder in Newaygo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newaygo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newaygo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Mountain Cur breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Mountain Cur rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newaygo paves the way for another one to be saved.
